Our guests leave Les Freuberts completely relaxed and usually asking when they can come again. Here's what some of our guests thought about their stay:

We couldn't have wished for a more friendly and charming stay.   Les Freuberts is an exceptional place and run by Barbra and Keith with diligence, care and loving attention. It  was more than a B and B as we felt so at home!

Our room, the African suite, was large enough for our family of four for six nights, the spacious bathroom adjacent had a luxury feel, so too did the daily freshly changed sheets and towels. The breakfast of warm fresh croissants and homemade jams set us up for the day . However,  the garden is perfect for sunbathing as the weather in Landivy is actually 5 degrees hotter than the UK, this was a really pleasant surprise and delayed our outings! On the days we did manage to leave,  Keith and Barbara were informative about the surrounding area and the location was ideal for getting to St Malo, Mont St Michel and Fourgeres.

Last but not least Benji deserves a mention, their delightful  Shih Tzu  dog ,who my kids fell in love with ! I would love to book the Gite next time as we were able to see it before we left.

"Lovely For Families"

We spent a week at Les Freuberts this August and would have happily stayed longer. The property is brilliant for families with young children. The pool, trampoline and large garden with play barn meant that our 2 and 5 year olds were kept endlessly entertained. We were able to sit in the beautiful surroundings with a drink and a book and relax in peace. A rare commodity when you have young children. There is enough to do within an hour's drive to fill a week easily. We had lovely days out at Mont St Michel and Fougeres and spent several hours investigating the lovely Fougeres forest and lake beach. We would have done more but the children were having too much fun at Les Freuberts.

A wonderful welcome from Barbara & Keith

The cottage is absolutely lovely, great base for exploring.

Loved the forest beach lake just between Landean and Fougeres, nice for kids

Wednesday market in St Hilaire du Harcouet definately worth a look, also the park with two lakes is a nice walk near the church in St Hilaire

Fougeres Chateau was nice and walked into town

St Malo, an hours drive was interesting, lovely harbour and quite a few shops, bars etc

The garden is beautiful and Lillie loved the trampoline

Very very comfotable and when the nights are chilly, the log burner is a treat

Would definitely hope to come and one day!

Thank you

We had the most amazing week, so much to see close by.

The Gite was very comfortable and we enjoyed our 'chilled' days lazing around here and playing in the beautiful gardens with Alannah (18 months).

Keith and Barbara were wonderful hosts, nothing is too much for them.  They gave us great advice on places to visit and eat.  Some of our highlights were :

Mont St Michel, St Hilaire market, Chateau Fougeres, D-Day beaches and meals at 'Auberge du Lac and Anacapri were both fantastic

Thank you for a wonderful week.  We will definitely be back!

Superb hospitality, amazing attention to detail and a wonderful couple - Keith and Barbara went well beyond the extra mile ensuring we had every need and more! The property is magnificent and well located. The little extras like tea and coffee facilities in the room made a huge difference. Without question they will be a regular stop for us. We highly recommend a visit to Les Freuberts! What more can you ask for, than to come away with new friends!

We wish the duration of our stay were longer.

We had a super relaxed time here.  Everything was to hand and Barbara & Keith are so friendly and helpful.

Pool was great and we BBQ'd most evenings.  We played golf near Vitre (Golf des Rochers Sevigne) which was fun and we visited Fougeres and St Hilaire.

We brought our dog (Ollie) with us and Barbara sorted the vet stuff our for us for our return to the UK.

Thank you both - you are great hosts.

Where to start with Les Freuberts - a truly wonderful place with perfect hosts.  Greeted with a smile and friendly face on day 1 which continued every moring and evening, Barbara & Keith always close by to check we were well and had everything we needed.

The Gite was wonderfully clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and more!  The garden, pool, trampoline and play barn were fantastic and kept Isla, our 3.5 year old entertained all day long and gave us peace of mind she was safe in the amazing grounds.

We visited Mont St Michel, which was great but could be busy in high season, St malo, which was our best day; the Old Town is beautiful and the beach and sea were perfect.

We also visited the market in St Hilaire and sampled the sausages wrapped in crepes (gallettes), bought cheese, Calvados and amazing tarts!  We also took a trip to the Fougeres Forest and the castle and on the way home visited the beach and lake in the forest although the lake was closed (still worth a visit).

Croissants from the bakery in Landivy, great food at restaurants like Anacapri (St Hilaire) and great wine and cider every night means we have some exercise to do when we get home!!

A truly fantastic break, thanks Barbara, Keith & Benji

What a wonderful place, great hosts, nothing too much trouble.

The weather was fantastic and the places we visited as commented by our son, were great and within a short car ride away.  The gite was great, clean and very comfortable with everything you needed for a great break.  The swimming pool was an added bonus as the weather was great, especially with our grandaughter, even if weather had been bad, still plenty for her to do as the play barn had lots of toys in it, and we could relax knowing she was safe.

We will definitely recommend to friends and wish Keith & Barbara all the very best in their new adventure.

Hope to return

We have had the most wonderful stay for 2 weeks at Les Freuberts.  We received a welcome second to none and Barbara & Keith have extended this warmth throughout our stay.  It has felt like we have been visiting our family 'en France'.  They have made us feel we have been able to have full reign of everything inside and outside.

The kids have loved all the outside activities and the hours on the trampoline have given the adults welcome respite.  We had some brilliant BBQ's.  Sadly it wasn't warm enough to use the pool more than a couple of times but when we did it was fab.

St Hilaire du Harcouet market was fantastic on Wednesdays and on Keith's recommendation we wandered around eating gallettes and perusing the baskets and food stalls.  There's a brilliant wooden toy stall near the church and the kids loved the live chickens and ducklings for sale in the car park!

We also ate at Anacapri restaurant (St Hilaire) which blew us away with their desserts especially.

Fougeres Castle was a great day for the kids and the market there is smaller but still worth a visit on a Saturday.

One of the best days was cycling along the disused railway (also there is a velo rail which looks fun although we didn't use it which starts at Ambrieres-les-Vallees.

We went on the boats on Mayenne river which was only 16 euros for an hour, and we met some other holidaymakers who said the cycle path from there is very beautiful and suitable for a family ride.

Altogether a fantastic 2 weeks. The miserable weather was made irrelevant by having such a lovely home from home - thanks so much.

Room superb, spacious bedroom and house.

Barbara & Keith were very welcoming, considerate to my listening.

We had all had an excellent two weeks at Les Freuberts.  Barbara & Keith's hospitality and friendliness couldn't be bettered.  The gite, pool and garden have all been well used and we are all (especialy our two boys 3&6) sad to leave.  Football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, cycling, swimming - we loved them all.  Keith & Barbara are great hosts indeed which gives Les Freuberts a lovely homely feel.  Good luck to both of you - you deserve much success.

A wonderful week, wonderful hosts, fantastic gite in a superb location.  We recommend St Malo for lovely beach; a pretty walled city full of character and places to eat and drink.  The Lake beach at the local Fougeres Forest is beautiful and of course Mt St Michel is a must.  Great food at the local Anacapri Restaurant in St Hilaire.  Try the local cider as its tres bon!  Hope to be back soon to see the bits we missed.

Amenities great, especially for children old and young.
